Video Recap of the 2026 Gold Nugget
One of the trademarks of springtime is preparing for and participating in the Gold Nugget. All year, but especially in the springtime, I can frequently be found telling my friends how much I love the Gold Nugget. I do love the variety of activities that a triathlon weaves together, but even more than that, I love the atmosphere that the Gold Nugget fosters.
As the largest all-women’s triathlon in the world, with over 1,500 participants, you can start to get an idea of what it looks like when women of all ages and abilities gather to accomplish something that requires a bit of strategy and is physically challenging for every level of racer. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to be around such a large group of women working hard and cheering each other on, so I often encourage women to “just come and see it one year”. This year, I decided to capture a bit of the race (despite feeling like a bit of a creep in the process) in hopes of capturing the feel of the event. This year I also prolonged and savored the experience by volunteering on race day (since I was one of the last waves of racers to start).
Here’s a compilation of the videos I took, along with a few photos and videos I gathered from family and friends who also participated. You can find more info about the Gold Nugget at the main event website, or I also share my first experience racing in this blog post.
